Wendy's original career began in emergency medicine, as a volunteer EMT for her local fire department back in the mid-1990's. She obtained her Paramedic degree in July, 1997 and has retained her status today. She also taught EMS for the State of Ohio, 1998-2003.
1998 was a particularly impacting year. Wendy was diagnosed with a rare presentation of Mesothelioma, and was labeled terminal. Mesothelioma is a rare cancer derived from the exposure to asbestos. To this date, there is still no cure. With only 12-18 months life expectancy, Wendy researched homeopathic methods that would not interfere with conventional medicine. She used guided imagery, meditation, prayer, herbal remedies, and drank Essiac Tea daily. On December 9, 1998 she was pronounced "cured" of all signs of cancer, to the shock and unbelievable surprise of her entire medical team. Her research and education of homeopathic methods was forever impacting. Science and medicine certainly has its place in this world, but adding alternative methods to the scope of practice is also a strong contender to achieving optimum health.
Wendy is currently a student at the Holistic Arts Institute, in California. She has obtained her CSA (Certified Subtle Aromatherapist) degree and has completed her Level II Reiki degree. She is currently working towards her HHP (Holistic Health Practitioner) license, which is board certified and recognized through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).
